Saturday morning with a 6 am start.... Maybe it is a sign of aging, or more realisticly: putting it down to the count down has reach its final week, and because of that, sleeping calmly is a rather challenging task to me. It feels a bit like when birthdays and Christmas really turned your whole world upside down (a feeling I personally miss). Christmas falls a bit early for me this year: in 8 days to be precise. On that note, I will excuse my self in advance. Eventhough, I haven't been as active here, as I ideally would have liked to, I feel quite certain that once we hit next Sunday, it'll be even more scarce with Lanka tales. I shall return with a vengence though.
Meanwhile, I did wake up at the crack of dawn this morning (well, almost)... The outcome of my early weekend rise so far: a batch of tasty, boiled chickpeas, a bit of morning exercise, mandatory morning milk tea and papaya and for some odd reason: my personal Lanka alphabet!
Aiyo!!!!!
Barefoot (could ’B’ be anything else?)
Curries & chili-pinapple.
Dang bakery tuc that consequently wakes me up every morning with a metallic sounding version of ’Fur Elise’... But who am I kidding, it would feel like something was missing, if it didn’t come one morning.
Earsplitting buses !!!
Favorite flower Frangipani.
Galle Face Hotel (and it’s pool!)
How will I ever survive with out my daily Thambili!
Ideally, I could transfer the Ceylon climate to Copenhagen latitudes.
Jackfruit - Polos, Waraka, just tasty no matter when you eat it!
[K]annot think of anything with K....
Lotus and lavish shades of green (at least when you pass the city limits)
Milagiryia Avenue - feels like home away from home
Not forgetting Milo and the daily passing of the ’Malo man’
Odel and other places where money so easily dissapears
Papaya, paper thin Dosai & Poya.
Questioning my return to Lanka seems quite superfluous.
Random acts of kindness and compassion.
Sri Lanka Design Festival 2011.
Tangy tamarind martinis.
Ulrik in Lanka in 8 days.
Vexatious red tape on so many levels (well, I can’t all be rose-colored).
Warmth, watermelon and ’where you from Madam?’ are all essentials.
Xtra special people, who make CMB to what it really is.
'Yolanda', the dress that got away.
Zingy lime soda, although too much whitewine emphasizes the Zzzzz sounds too.
Now, I guess, I find myself forced to embrace the the sun, while I can... Pool, book and a sun bed with an Indian Ocean view - not really a very Christmassy Saturday, but certainly a Saturday I can live with.
